Terms of Business

By paying the deposit for your safari at Tholo Safaris or buying an auction hunt to hunt at Tholo Safaris you are agreeing to all our terms and conditions, including and not limited to the below referenced.

*A safari is booked & confirmed only upon receipt of a deposit of 40% of the basic safari fee. (Or other written agreed upon amount with directors of Tholo Safaris.)

*The balance of the safari fee is payable 30 days before arrival for the safari (balance due before the start date of the safari, before safari can commence).

*12% VAT is charged on daily rates, daily rate portion of package deals , cull animals, transfers, charters and extras.

*Client will be able to add more animals at current trophy fees/price list (date of the hunt price list) if animal is available and property owner permits it.

*Animals can only be culled will the permission of the land owner and Professional Hunter. Cull animals are determined by the Professional Hunter when hunting and are not always available.

*Children and observers are both $225 per day extra each plus 12% VAT (daily rate). Observers/Children are allowed to go hunting with the hunter they are accompanying or stay in camp if they wish.

*We recommend no more than 2 observers for 1x1 hunts (1 hunter with 1 PH/vehicle) and no more than 1 observer for 2x1 hunts (2 hunters with 1 PH/vehicle). (Only a recommendation.)

*An extra vehicle and guide to take non-hunters on game drives/activities on Tholo conservancy is $250 per day plus 12% vat and this includes two drives or two activities per day (morning & late afternoon).

*Wounded animals must be paid for in full. (The professional hunter and tracker decides if an animal is wounded or not based on evidence and professional opinion/experience).

*If a package deal is bought a guest/client cannot swap out; switch a species for another species; no substituting animals in packages. Packages are not changeable. (example: you cannot swap the kudu in the package for a zebra). Clients can add extra trophies, at the current trophy fees. No refunds on animals not taken on packages, guests can take animals not taken on package on return hunts to Tholo.

*Payment methods: Cash (BWP/USD), Bank Transfer or Website Online Payments. Please notify Tholo Safaris via email (tholosafaris.info@gmail.com) once deposit/payments are made.

*Bank transfer charges are payable by the client/agent in full and should be taken into consideration when transferring funds/making payment.

*We accept payments from Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Paypal on our website online payment system. (https://tholosafarisbotswana.com/contact.html)

*Please note a 5% surcharge is charged on all payments made on Tholo’s website online payment system. Please take this surcharge into account when making payments. NB. Payments must be made in BWP on the online payment system not in USD. (Use rate converter link on website)

*We do not accept personal cheques, business cheques or travellers’ cheques.

*Tholo Safaris has the right to remove species from the trophy list without notice in order to regulate species populations/protect species populations (in the interest of sustainable hunting).

*Tholo Safaris has the right to remove species from the trophy list / package without notice if new regulations are put in action by the Botswana Government/ Botswana Wildlife Department.

*Cancellation Policy: If the safari is cancelled 6 months prior to the safari date, the deposit is transferrable to another safari for the following season only. If the safari is cancelled less than 6 months prior to the safari date, no deposit is returned. Safaris cancelled less than 30 days prior to the scheduled safari, the total daily rate will be forfeited. No deposits are refunded.

*The client undertakes to give his/her full cooperation in safe weapon handling and ethical hunting methods.

*Should a client be unable to harvest the animal(s) in his package hunt, the animal will be carried over to the next hunt by client regardless of time frame. There will be no refund of trophy fee in this situation, but the party will be able to harvest the animal on a return hunt to Tholo.

*Liability: While every effort will be made to safeguard you & your property, no liability or responsibility will be accepted for any accident, injury, illness or any loss of property during your safari with us. By booking & paying a deposit you are deemed to have accepted these liability and insurance clauses.

*Indemnity: Hunting is a potentially dangerous activity and while the Outfitter and his staff are well qualified and experienced, the Parties agree herewith that neither the Outfitter nor his staff, agents or assigns, will be held responsible by the client for any accident happening on Safari. The client undertakes herewith to take out all risk insurance before the hunt commences and at all times hunt at his/her own risk.
